What sets this plant apart from the common philodendron is its large, palm-like leaves and the stalks (petioles) and underside veins with a striking red tinge. As the plant grows, the glossy green lobes deepen and widen. A large climbing, vining that, when mature, can grow to be over 6 feet tall, it's a perfect dramatic floor specimen.
Light: Bright indirect light.
Potting mixture: Potting Soil + Cocopeat + Organic manure/Vermicompost at equal parts and 5% perlite.
Water: Let the potting mixture dry half way between watering. Water the plant once in 3-5 days depending on the light intensity. Over watering results in root rot of the plant.
Growth habit: Climbing.
Like most Philodendrons this species prefers to climb upon a tree. You can simulate this process with a moss pole for more vigorous growth.
