The Rojo Congo philodendron is a hybrid plant that is known for its luscious foliage and unique red and green coloring. Its leaves start out coppery red as they emerge and mature to a deep green color (although the petioles remain red). Thanks to its lush appearance and low-maintenance nature, the Rojo Congo has become a popular houseplant among philodendron enthusiasts and houseplant lovers alike.

PLANT CARE:

Placement: The Rojo Congo Philodendron is one of the easiest plants to care for. She will do well in just about any room. Place her next to a bright sunny window or even in a dimly lit room. Rotate the plant occasionally to encourage even growth.

Light Requirements: The Rojo Congo Philodendron will thrive in bright, indirect light but will be perfectly fine in extremely low levels of sunlight as well. Avoid placing her in direct sun, as the rays can scorch the leaves.

Watering: Water the plant when the top inch of soil is dry. Water moderately and regularly so that the soil is consistently moist, but not soggy. Clean the leaves occasionally by wiping them down with a soft, damp cloth.

Temperature: Prefers warmer temperature between 76°F - 86°F. Cold temperatures should be avoided.

Humidity: Does well with standard indoor levels of humidity, about 40% - 60%.

Repotting: The plant can live happily in the provided pot for up to a year. Check if the plant is ready to be repotted by touching the soil and seeing if it has become loose, or if the roots have become overgrown. Irrigate the pot in order to loosen the soil before transplanting. Repot using a rich, well-draining soil. When your plant is ready to be repotted, you can follow our simple how-to guide.

Unhealthy Plant Signs: Droopy leaves may be a sign of underwatering, while yellow, droopy leaves may be a sign of overwatering. Brown, crispy spots on leaves may be a sign of too much direct sun.

Toxicity: The sap of this plant may cause irritation to skin. If ingested, may cause a harmful reaction in pets.
